JUST IN: Emenike opens West Ham account with brace as Moses shines
Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has opened his account at his new club West Ham United with a brace.
Emenike who joined West Ham on January transfer day deadline scored in the 64th and 85th minute in his side’s 5-1 away win at Blackburn in an FA cup 5th round tie.
Blackburn midfielder Ben Marshall had opened the scoring in the 20th minute.
However, his strike cancelled out by Nigerian international and Super Eagles winger Victor Moses in the 26th minute.
West Ham’s Dimitri Payet scored in the 36th minute to give the away team the lead before the break.
Emenike’s double in the 64th and 85th then later put the game beyond reach for the home side, before another Payet’s strike in the 90th minute sealed a quarterfinal berth for West Ham.

African Marriages in America: Problems and Solutions
Nze Uche Ezechukwu asked a question on his wall regarding Nigerian men who murder their wives in America.
It can only get worse. With what I see here among African husbands and their wives? It can only get worse.
Now, let me tell you what the problem is
1. An African man living abroad is looking for a wife, the first thing he does is tell his people to get him a nurse. If he fails to get a nurse, he tells the lady that she has to get into the nursing field once she gets to the USA, Canada, or UK. And so the woman gets in, fees possibly paid by the lazy boss who hopes to have a very efficient ATM later. Upon graduation, the bobo transfers every of his responsibility to the ATM, giving up his place as father and husband. The woman works like a donkey while the man now sits in front of TV or video game.
You gave up your place. You turned her to a man; sir, don’t expect to have a wife in your home. You can’t eat your cake and have it.
2. And you, African woman, a man asked for your hand in marriage and the first thing he wants to know is if you are a nurse or ready to study nursing. You shamelessly accepted the marriage. Is that love? You were not even given the right to choose your career, at your age, a fellow human chose your career. I admire nurses who are in it because from childhood, that’s what they want to become. But when I see that you have no passion in you and you are telling me that you are a nurse, I instantly place you where I place your likes. Your c
You have to live with the consequences of your choice. You can’t eat your cake and have it.
3. You are an African woman who wants to be more westernized than westerners. You now feel too big to cook and even when you cook the thing you call food, all he gets is “hi, your food is in the microwave”. You feel he has to be forced, not begged and pampered to do laundry and help clean up. You do all these because you are looking at irresponsible Americans and not those with good upbringing. Look at those from responsible homes and you would get to understand that there is a place for the man in every home. You would get to see that white or black, young or old, every man has that male ego in him and it takes wisdom to get him to do things without struggle.
4. You may need to change your friends. Those your friends who party with you every weekend without their husbands. You work all week, your children don’t see you and weekend when you should face your home, you are out there partying and drinking and doing all sorts of rubbish with your friends. And I don’t know when Igbo women started going crazy for all these asoebi nonsense. Woman, sit your butt at home and run your home.
Change your friends. Change those women who are nothing but miserable comforters, whose counsel is anti-God/nature.
Sir, you have to stop being lazy, you are not in America to hang out with friends while the woman feeds and provides shelter. It is your duty to feed, clothe, and provide shelter. She can only assist, it’s not her duty. If you make her a man, don’t expect to have a wife.
Above all, let us return to the Lord and He will return to us.
May God bless men like my husband who is holding on to our values in a foreign land.

I Realised that my Wife is HIV Positive!
So sorry for the demise of your father. Please I need your opinion on this. I’m married with a baby, but the marriage is less that two years and I’m planning to divorce my wife. Less than nine months into this marriage I realised my wife was HIV positive. I don’t know if she was HIV positive before our wedding or if she contracted it after our wedding since we did not do HIV test before our wedding. She was two months pregnant before she travelled to see her parents in another state which was four months after our wedding. It was while she was with them I learnt of her HIV status.
Aunty Amara, suicide was one of the things I contemplated on seriously but because of my love for God I refused to take my own life. Well, I have done HIV test up to fifteen times both in private and public hospitals and the result is negative. I have cried severally because of this because of this my BP is always high sometimes 180/140.
Since this incidence I have refused to live with her because of fear of being infected. Sex is totally out of it all since the feelings for sex towards her have died off. My family and hers are not happy with me because of my inability to live with her. Financially and materially I take care of her and the baby. If I see happy couples I used to shed tears because that was what I desired but can’t have it. Love, intimacy or sex is totally out of this union and nobody knows all this up till now. Please advice me as your younger brother on what to do since I see her now as a younger sister and not as my wife which makes us to be living in two different states now.
Please do not let this unsettle you or push you into taking your own life. HIV / AIDS doesn’t have any cure at the moment but that doesn’t mean that you should commit suicide because you will be signing your certificate of self destruction and hatred with your own hands.
HIV /AIDS cannot be contracted by living with the carrier nor will it be contracted by sharing eating utensils with the carrier. With good feeding and health care, a HIV carrier can live with the virus for as long as God desires of her life.
What I couldn’t wrap up my mind on was when she knew about her HIV status and why she never told you about it. Could it be that she was already positive before you got married to her? If the answer was yes then there was a high probability that you would have been infected with the virus as a result of your sexual activity then. Or could it be that she contracted the virus during pregnancy or child delivery which was a possibility? If yes that also meant that she was vulnerable at the time of the contracting the infection.
If you can, kindly bring her back home and then have a heart to heart discussion with her, please find out when she contracted the infection and why she refused to tell you until you discovered that much later. Knowing the time of infection will be helpful to decide whether to continue with the marriage and manage the circumstances or decide to quit your marriage on the grounds of deception and move on with your child.
The mistake you made was getting married without knowing your HIV status. That singular act would have saved you so much and helped you to organise your life and decide what was best for you.
While HIV patients can still live with non HIV partners, have sex (with condom), raise children and take care of their home with little or no stress, the choice of whether to remain married to him or quit the marriage is solely yours to decide.
In all the obstacles of life, please do not lose hope or destroy your life with worries, but hold unto God and allow him to take control of what you cannot manage.
It is well with you and your family.

A pre-wedding photo- shoot has turned out to be a disaster as the couple got what they never bargained for.

A social media user wrote: “My phone could take better photos than this, but the way the couple looks… that’s the bigger problem.”
Another person said of the photos: “They may not be good-looking, but it’s the photographer’s job to make them look that way, he’s obviously terrible.”

Oil Price Stability: President Buhari To Visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar
President Muhammadu Buhari will begin a week-long official visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Monday, February 22, for talks with King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and senior officials of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
High on the agenda of discussions between President Buhari and the Saudi Monarch, is the ongoing efforts by Nigeria and other members of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to achieve greater stability in the price of crude oil exports.
In a statement on Sunday the spokesperson for the President said that President Buhari would be accompanied by a high-powered Federal Government delegation. The Minister of State (Petroleum) and Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu will be part of the delegation.
The President will also fly to Riyadyh on Tuesday.
“Crude oil prices and market stability would also be on the front burner when President Buhari goes on to Doha on Saturday for talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,” the statement read.
The President is also scheduled to meet with leading Saudi and Qatari businessmen in Riyadh and Doha, and invite them to support his administration’s efforts to revamp the Nigerian economy by taking advantage of the great investment opportunities currently available in Nigeria’s mining, agriculture, power supply, infrastructure, transportation, communications and other sectors.
President Buhari’s other engagements in Saudi Arabia include meetings with Heads of International Financial Organisations and Multilateral Associations.
Before going on to Doha, the President will also visit Medina and Mecca to pray for greater peace, prosperity and progress in Nigeria.

Exclusive: Shocking revelation of how primary school students sit on floor for lectures (photos)
Education is one of the basic things required to have a crime-free society. Not that it totally eradicates crime, but it helps reduce the rate of criminal activities in the society.
For this reason, much attention is expected to be given to schools, institutions where formal education takes place at all times.
The same cannot be said of St. John’s Anglican Primary School II, Kuto, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, where the students are made to study on bare, shattered floors.
Kullove.com journalists who were in the state on assignment stumbled on this school and decided to probe further, why it had to be so in this time and generation where technology is in an advanced state.
With an average of three blocks of classrooms, each class is not expected to house more than 20-30 students, but unfortunately, many of the classrooms were vacant without any teacher dishing out instructions to learners.
As at the time of visit (towards the closing period), most of the students were seen playing carelessly in the various classrooms without any instructor.
The roofs and ceilings were nothing to write home about as they were in different states of total disaster.
Our correspondent who wanted to get to the root of matters, disguised as a parent who wanted to bring his ward for admission and was directed to meet the head teacher of the school.
On the first day of visit, she welcomed Kullove.com’s journalist and explained that a list of prospective students had only been sent to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for approval and subsequent admission but asked him (our correspondent) to return the next day for further clarification on how to go about the process.
Before then, she had explained that basic admission requirements would not cost more than N2,100 per student.
“That is because the person is a first-timer. They only pay N300 every term as levies to carry out some developmental projects in the school,” she had stated.
After thanking her for the explanation, our correspondent was asked to return the next day for further explanation on the admission process.
Early the next day, at about 9.30am, our correspondent returned to make inquiries about how and when to bring this ‘new student’ for the start of the admission process.
This time around, there was a little bit of sanity in the school compound as many of the students were in their classrooms and this gave our correspondent ample time to assess the students and teachers in their ‘normal’ states.
The head teacher took her time to explain the admission procedure this time and was explicit enough to make it obvious that it was totally a government-run institution.
“For a first-timer, the fee is N2,100. That’s because there’s building levy as well as retirement levy. I’ll be retiring next year by God’s Grace so, there’s a levy for retirement.
“Any parent who wants the child to come here has to write a letter to SUBEB, indicating that they want the child or ward in our school.
“It is from there that we get the approval to accept such a parent’s child here and the necessary payments will be made here as well,” the fair-skinned woman narrated.
Our correspondent pressed further to know if there were other payments to be made after the admission procedure had been concluded, and the head teacher informed of lesson fees. The amount was totally shocking!
She said: “They hold extra lessons here at the rate of N20 per day. They also pay N20 for feeding because they do not come with food.
“They close the lesson by 3.30pm at times. We pay the security man here N3,000 monthly, this money is gotten from the stipends that these children pay.”
Expressing his dislike for the state of facilities in the school, Kullove.com’s journalist asked another staff of the school who preferred anonymity why they had yet to fix some of the anomalies in the institution because “the person who asked me to make inquiries may not like what this place looks like.”
This staff opened a can of worms on how the government had been promising year after year, that they would fix the rot in the school.
“On several occasions, the government had promised to do something about the state of our school, but all of these have ended in sheer promises.”
The head teacher who refused to say anything about whether or not government was involved in the process, said that she was planning to “do something remarkable with the building over there,” she said pointing towards a direction opposite where the reporter stood with her.
“That’s why we collect money for building from the students every term,” she added.
Another striking revelation by this woman was the fact that most of the students schooling there were ‘abandoned’ individuals who work as maids/servants in their respective homes.
She noted with disdain, that this is a reason many of them do not even pay the meagre amount of money they are required to pay per term.
“You know, most of the students here are Omo Odo (meaning servants/maids in Yoruba), that’s the reason some of these guardians abandon them here and refuse to pay their levies like others.
“We remind them everyday on the assembly ground, to bring their money, but what can one do if they refuse to do so? Although we also involve the church (St. John’s Anglican) about some of our plights, it cannot be enough because the school is totally under the government’s supervision,” the unhappy head teacher explained.
Shocking also is the fact that some students of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) hold lectures in some of the classrooms inside the compound, under similar circumstances.
With the Ogun state government working for the people, it is expected that this issue will be looked into in no distant future to forestall a jeopardy of the future of these great minds.

Edo residents issue strong advice to Oshiomhole
– Governor Oshiomhole gets serious advice over the future of Edo state
– Resident in Edo state extols the governor for his contribution to the development programmes in the state
– Oshiomhole hopeful for good successor in Edo state
Some residents of Edo state were full of praise for their governor Adams Oshimhole after he inspected the roads projects at Upper Lawani Street and 2nd East Circular Road in Benin, the state capital.
Although the residents expressed their kind words to their governor for his contribution to the development programmes in Edo state, they also had an advice for him.
One of which is for the governor to search for a worthy successor in a move to ensure the unhindered continuity of the development programmes in the state.
According to them, a wrong candidate would return the state to the dark days, Vanguard reports.
READ ALSO: Ogbemudia promises payback to Oshiomhole
One of the residents of Upper Lawani Street, Felix Irorere said: “I am praying for you because when you came, you did not meet anything on ground. You have laboured so much, let nobody destroy your work. Make sure that whether people talk or not, make sure you chose somebody who will be able to take after you and not undo what you have done.
“Don’t be ashamed or afraid, don’t look at their faces, make sure the right person comes in. You will live long.”
READ ALSO: Oshiomole: Carrying placards is not only for the poor
Another resident, Eunice Obazee said: “We are very happy to see that Oshiomhole is working on the road. Now we can transport ourselves from here to New Benin. This road was very bad before now, you couldn’t pass through Uwa Street to New Market and vehicles coming stops half way but now, the road is in good shape. We will support and vote for whosoever he brings out to succeed him.
Goodness Akudike also had some nice words to say to Governor Oshiomhole. She said: “He has done so well for us because many governments abandoned this road for years. He is the only person that understands and remembered this road, so I am very grateful, I love him so much and I thank him.”
Also speaking, Ikponwosa Ohenhen said: “I really appreciate him, he has done well. At least, in his time, there is proof of leadership in this state. This road was not good before now, even getting to Uwa Street was impossible. Even rebuilding Uwa Street to St Joseph alone is very okay by me.”
Another resident of the area, Lucy Arewan said: “This road was very bad before, no vehicle could pass through this area before, it was that bad. God will continue to bless Oshiomhole for us and continue to reward him for us. Oshiobaba really tried for us and we appreciate him,”
On his part, Lucky Imasuen, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress and former deputy governor of Edo state said: “I have seen things for myself, this is unbelievable. While state governors are struggling on how to pay their workers and pensioners, not only are pensioners and workers being paid in Edo state, this man is moving the impossible.”
“I have gone around with him to Upper Mission, Upper Lawani and 2nd East Circular, I have gone on my own to Teachers House and its environs and the man is doing wonderfully well.
“It is good to criticize, I have no objection about that. Opposition is healthy for our democracy but when you criticize, you must do so constructively. That way, when you do criticize, people can then take you seriously. This man is doing magic and personally, I am blown away and it is my hope and prayers that God continue to bless him and give him the wisdom and the ability to continue this wonderful job he started few years ago.
“I am appealing to all Edo people irrespective of your political affiliations to come on board, come and see what he is doing, thank him for what he is doing so we can continue our movement.”
Governor Adams Oshiomhole had broken his silence over his position on the choice of his successor in January, last month.
He told members of the APC drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state that while he would ensure there are primaries, he, would not be indifferent to the choice of his successor from the lot that are jostling for the party’s gubernatorial ticket.
“There would be primaries according to our constitution but I cannot be neutral in matters that affect my environment,” he said.

Again out of Nigeria: see Buhari’s plans for the next week
– Buhari’s next points of destination are Saudi Arabia and Qatar
– The Nigerian leader is set to discuss oil export issues with the Saudi monarch

Why Buhari should devalue naira now – Gov Fayose
– Governor Fayose accuses Buhari of employing failed economic policies in Nigeria
– Says President Buhari is deceiving himself
– Describes foreign trips as waste of funds
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to devalue the Nigerian naira on the grounds that the currency has already been devalued owing to the gap between the official rate of N199 and open market rate of over N400 to one dollar.
Fayose also accused Buhari of applying his 1984 failed economic policy in which prices of goods were fixed not minding the cost of supply.

The governor noted that such policy in time past resulted in essential commodities like milk and sugar being scarce, leading to Nigerians lining up in the sun to buy rationed commodities.
According to Premium Times, Fayose in a release issued in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, February 21, decried that there was no time in the history of Nigeria that the gap between dollar official rate and open market rate was more than N200.
He said the federal government was causing business to be fold daily and prices of goods to skyrocket by calculating the country’s revenue on the basis of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official rate of N199 to a dollar while states and local councils that who share the revenue with the federal government run their businesses at the open market rate of over N400 to one dollar.
The governor faulted Buhari for wasting the nations resources on foreign trips saying:”President Buhari has travelled to 24 countries in eight months, and will be spending 16 out of the 29 days in February outside the country, with over $500,000 being spent on estacode while the Presidential Air Fleet, which includes fuelling of the planes and allowances for crew members is said to be in the range of $500,000.

“The President’s entourage obviously collect their travel allowances in dollars on official rate of N199 and come back to Nigeria to change it at the open market rate of N400. That must be the reason they encourage the President to be junketing abroad when life is becoming unbearable for Nigerians.”
Fayose called on the president to stop deceiving himself by devaluing, noting that anything other than this will mean that we are “deceiving ourselves with forced foreign exchange rates”.
Meanwhile, Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, insisted on Sunday, February 20, that the 2016 budget was not padded as being speculated in some quarters.
He said that the total figure voted for all ministries had not exceeded N6.08 trillion which was the official sum proposed by the government.

SHOCKING: How Two Married Men Ra ped A 13-Year-Old Girl In An Uncompleted Building
13-year-old Peace Chinedu had accused Mr. David Sarki, a driver and Chidi Njoku, a businessman, who also live in Gishiri, of violently rap ing her in an uncompleted building.
Peace told our reporter that her mother went out that evening to buy some items for dinner when suddenly, Mr. Chidi Njoku, a father of three came to their house with David Sarki and requested she followed them to see something.
She said that initially, she refused, but the men
pressured her to follow them to where her mother was. On hearing that, she followed them, thinking that something bad had happened to her mother.
“I thought they were taking me to see my mum
because that was what they told me, but instead I was taken to an uncompleted building. When I asked them why they brought me there, Mr. David slapped me and asked me to remove my clothes.
I refused, but both men tore my clothes. They pushed me down and Mr. David Sarki raped me. I cried and pleaded to Mr. Njoku who was watching, to rescue me but he also removed his trousers and raped me.”
She said that after the ra pe, she felt so much pain that she started begging the two men not to kill her.
They promised not to kill her if only she wouldn’t tell anybody about the incident. When she promised that she would not tell anybody, they asked her to wear her torn pants, after which they took her home.
“When my mother came home and saw me bleeding and crying, I told her what happened and she took me to the police station,” she said.
A Mabushi police source told our reporter that when the victim was brought to the station, she could not walk and was immediately taken to the hospital.
“There was blood and sperm stain on her panties with high degree of bruises in her private part.
The results of the test proved that the two men
ra ped the accused. We instantly stormed the houses of the suspects who were all family men, but they ran away until the police received a tip-off and they were able to arrest them from their hideouts.”
When our reporter visited the police station, Mr.
David Sarki agreed that he and Njoku raped the girl. He claimed that the devil pushed him to do
so as his wife had denied him s ex.
When the Mabushi divisional police officer, Chief
Superintendent Ayobami Surajudeen was contacted, he confirmed the incident and the arrest, but said the case would be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department.
