– A SS2 student attacked a teacher at a community secondary school in Suleja, Niger state, on Wednesday, February 9, 2016.
– The boy was taken to the police station for investigation, but was released the same day due to the headmistress’s efforts.
– That was the second time the teachers at the Suleja community secondary school were attacked by the students.
An eyewitness, a Suleja community secondary school teacher, who did not want his identity to be revealed, told Kullove.com that the assaulted teacher had been threatened with letters several times before being attacked. However, the headmistress never took it seriously.
On Wednesday, February 9, the day when the attack took place, the police came to handle the situation. The policemen checked the school and the teachers’ office, and detained the student. However, the headmistress bailed him the very same day.
In the words of the eyewitness, everyone in the school expected the boy to be expelled, but the headmistress said this was not going to happen because the boy was her relative; it sparked outrage among the students and other teachers.
This was the second time the teacher got attacked by the students at the Suleja community secondary school. Earlier, a female teacher had been assaulted by a student in the teachers’ room. Reportedly, the students family and gang later caused a lot of trouble to the school.
