A man who was wrongfully incarcerated for 33-years has been found to be innocent through a new evidence sparking jubilation and joy.
Keith Harward found innocent after spending 33-years in prison
A former US sailor was acquitted Thursday with the help of DNA evidence after spending 33 years in prison, erroneously convicted of raping a woman and killing her husband in 1982.
Keith Harward was convicted on expert testimony that a bite mark on the wife matched his teeth imprint. He was sentenced to life in prison.
Three decades later, DNA tests have revealed that the rape and murder were carried out by a different sailor, who has since died in prison serving a sentence for another crime.
Harward, now 59, was convicted of entering a home in the city of Newport News, killing the husband with a crowbar and raping his wife while their three children slept nearby.
The Virginia Supreme Court wrote in its decision that it “vacates Harward’s convictions for murder, rape, forcible sodomy and robbery.”
In 2015, the United States exonerated 149 people, a record number that represents only a “drop in the bucket” of tens of thousands of wrongly convicted people, according to a February report by the University of Michigan Law School.
The 149 prisoners had served 14.5 years each on average.

A heartless pastor who was in a marital quarrel with the wife leading to divorce has gone on Facebook to publish many of her n*ked photos.

A pastor in Ghana has found himself in trouble after he posted n*ked pictures of his former wife on Facebook.
It was alleged that the pastor last year ordered a photographer to take a n*de picture of his ex-lover, Mame Kesewah in their bedroom.
The pastor who had two kids with the ex-lover, then posted the n*de pictures on social media which caught the attention of many in the town.
The Chief of Dokrokyiwa, Baffour Anom who confirmed the incident to Daily Guide, said the uncle of the pastor came to his palace on Monday and reported that, the pastor after divorcing his wife last year, posted the lady’s n*de pictures on social media.
According to the chief, classmates of the victim’s elderly child teased and laughed at her when she went to school stressing that her mum’s (Mame Kesewah) n*ked pictures were trending widely on Facebook.
Shamed and disgraced by the utterances of her classmates, the reported the matter to her Uncle, who in turn came and reported the matter to him (chief).
Explaining what happened on that fateful day the pastor took the pictures, Kesewah said that before the photographer came into their room, the pastor had wiped her face with a handkerchief and she became unaware of what transpired thereafter until Sunday evening when a friend came to inform her that her n*ked pictures were posted on the social media.
The chief disclosed that his outfit then ordered the arrest of the pastor and the photographer by the Kraboa Coaltar police.
The Ayensuano District Police when contacted confirmed that the suspects were arrested and are currently in their custody assisting with investigations and will be sent to court within this week.

A mother reunited with the son she gave up for adoption 30 years ago says now they’re in love – and trying for a baby together.
Kim West, 51, has been in a relationship with her biological son Ben Ford, 32, for two years and believe they are ‘meant to be’ after she was forced to give him up for adoption just a week after he was born.
But the couple, who say their sex life is ‘incredible’ and are planning to get married, insist their relationship is not incest, the New Day reports.
The couple were brought together after Ben, who was living in the US, sent his England-born mum a letter out of the blue in 2013.
Two years before Ben had married his wife Victoria, who he later split up with to be in a relationship with his mum.The pair began exchanging phone calls before agreeing to meet up, Kim saying it was like they had ‘known each other for years’.
Interior designer Kim started to realise her attraction to her son and found herself having ‘sexy dreams’ about him.
Feeling confused about the attraction, Kim decided to look it up on the internet and came across an article on Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA), and felt like a weight had lifted.
The pair agreed to meet at a hotel where they ordered alcohol and after a bottle of champagne shared their first kiss.
Ben told her he felt relieved and that he had stopped having feelings for his wife before the pair went on to have sex a number of times.
Three days later Ben told a disgusted Victoria he was leaving her for his mum and the couple flew to Michigan,
where they had help from another GSA couple in setting up a new life.
Kim told the New Day sex with Ben was “incredible and mind-blowing”.
She said:
“This is not incest, it is GSA. We are like peas in a pod and meant to be together.
“I know people will say we’re disgusting, that we should be able to control our feelings, but when you’re hit by a love so consuming you are willing to give up everything for it, you have to fight for it.
“It’s a once in a lifetime chance and something Ben and I are not willing to walk away from.

Meet The Gang That Killed A Pastor For Preaching Repentance To Them (Photo)
Chukwu Ekere, a pastor based in Rivers state has been killed for preaching repentance in the oil-rich state.
According to the police, the Rivers State Police Command arrested the culprits along with four suspected kidnappers and one armed robber. The police also recovered stolen vehicles.In a statement by Ahmad Muhammad, DSP, the Public Relations Officer, PPRO, he said the arrests were made at Ohigha in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government and in Diobu, Port Harcourt.
The suspects arrested include: Henry Ajie, 23; Bright Ajie, 22, Dadison Ogadima, 22, and Sampson Dibia, 30, all of Ohigha village for complicity in the kidnapping of Mrs Igila Sunday of Ohigha village on January 7, 2016.
According to the police command “the suspects confessed to the allegations of the victim’s kidnapping after which they raped, strangulated her and buried her corpse in shallow grave at Ogbosi.
“The gang also confessed to have been responsible for the kidnapping of Pastor Chukwu Ekere of same Ohigha community and killed him for the simple reason that the man of God disturbed them with his preaching of repentance and also for urging them to shun their nefarious activities and accept God.”

Fake EFCC Operatives Nabbed (Photo)
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday April 8, 2016 arrested the duo of Abbas Attahiru and Mohammed Sufiyanu for offences bordering on personation and obtaining by false pretence.
Attahiru and Sufiyanu’s arrest followed a complaint by a would be victim, that the suspects claiming to be staff of EFCC, informed him of a petition purportedly written against him.
Complainant, the suspects promised to give him a “soft landing” provided he was ready to part with some money.
Suspecting a foul play, the complainant contacted the Commission and he was asked to play along as the EFCC does not solicit for, nor accept payments/gratification from persons or organisations under any guise to settle matters.
The suspects were apprehended at the complainant’s home after collecting N100,000 (One hundred thousand naira) which was part of their “agreed fee” to “kill the case”.
The suspects would be charged to court as soon investigations are concluded.

APC, PDP test strength in Abuja council poll today
The All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party renew their rivalry on Saturday (today) as they fight for the control of the six area councils in Abuja.
The election will produce six area council chairmen and 62 councillors.
The election, which was earlier scheduled for March 19, was shifted by the Independent National Electoral Commission over the refusal of some members of the National Youth Service Corps to serve as ad hoc staff.
The commission said it had approached the University of Abuja to supply the shortfall in the number of the ad hoc staff which it experienced as a result of the action of the corps members.
Both the PDP and the APC have renewed their campaigns since the postponement of the election.
It is believed that its outcome will determine the popularity or otherwise of President Muhammadu Buhari and his governing party, the APC.
There are fears that the residents might use the vote to show their grievances over the lingering fuel crisis which has paralysed economic activities in the nation’s capital.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, had questioned the rationale behind the shifting of the election, which he said might not be unconnected with an alleged plan by the APC to use security agencies to rig it.
INEC has, however, affirmed its readiness to conduct a hitch-free election.
It also implored political parties and their supporters to maintain peace throughout the process.
Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, gave the assurance, even as he implored politicians to play by the rules and enjoined supporters to maintain peace throughout the process.
He asked politicians to ensure that their supporters conduct themselves in a peaceful manner before, during and after the elections.
He spoke at a stakeholders’ forum, which took place in Abuja on Thursday evening.
He explained that the commission had so far taken every step necessary for the conduct of elections in the FCT this weekend.
He said, “All non-sensitive materials have been procured and delivered to our area council offices. Sensitive materials shall be delivered to our FCT Headquarters and shared in the presence of all political parties and stakeholders as scheduled.
“Our registration centre areas will be activated on Friday. Election duty staff will be at the polling unit on Saturday morning to commence simultaneous accreditation and voting at exactly 8 in the morning”.
The INEC chairman condemned pockets of political violence experienced recently leading to the death of one person and an averted plot to attack the INEC office in Abaji.
He, however, expressed confidence that the understanding and commitment to free and fair elections that prevailed at the forum would be extended to the elections proper.
The National Commissioner in Charge of the North-Central Zone, Prof. Anthonia Simbine, urged all stakeholders in the elections, especially the political parties, to moderate their political behaviour before, during and after the elections.

According to reports, the fuming momager rang Tokyo after the comment despite being on a ski trip in Vail, Colorado. Kris apparently tore into Tokyo and demanded that she quickly issue an apology to the family.
An insider told Radar Online: “Kris called Toni in the middle of the night and she absolutely ripped her a new one! Kris told her to apologise right now and to ‘never, ever’ use her family’s name like that again!”
It would be recalled that outspoken Tokyo seemingly crossed the line when she branded the Kardshians ‘reality h**s’ on Instagram on Wednesday.
Tokyo – real name – Shalana Hunter – also claimed the family wouldn’t be invited to Rob and Blac’s wedding.
The source also told the website that Kris is ‘p***ed off’ that Tokyo will be at the wedding – not to mention that they’ll become in-laws afterwards.
However it’s thought Kris holds all the cards because she’ll ultimately be the person paying for the big day.
The insider continued: “Rob and Blac were really upset that Tokyo Toni would do such a thing and they forced her to apologize to Kris and to the entire family. Kris has already offered to pay for this wedding in full.”

Good Morning,
This is just a brief report about what happened today at about 07:15am this morning.
My name is Felix Olaitan, I work with a Media house in Lagos.
Every Friday Morning, I shoot in a gym at Oliyide Street in Ikeja for a Cable TV Station, but as i arrived the venue this morning, i realize that the place was locked and occupants of houses in that street were seen in twos and threes analyzing what seems to be like an eye witness ordeal of a robbery incident.I t was after i parked that i realise that it is becoming a daily affair in the country these days where mobs take laws into their hands to mete out jungle justice to suspected criminals.
The pictures of the suspected armed robber lynched is attached. According to eyewitnesses, the young man was caught after robbing people of their valuables, they were two, but the second robber escaped when sensed his end was imminent. Instant justice was carried out on him as he was shot in the leg.
As at the time of writing this report, he’s still on the floor of Änike Apena Street, not too far from Customs Office in Ikeja

Ekiti Drama: Tope Aluko Seeks Police Protection, Alleges Threat To Life
Former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State, Dr Temitope Aluko has called on the Inspector-General of Police and to grant him protection, alleging threat to his life.
Aluko, who addressed a press conference, yesterday in Lagos, accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State of plans to undermine his safety.
He, however, called on the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister for Justice to fast-track the happenings of the 2014 governorship election in the state.
His words: “I have not fled the country and equally on bail from the agencies while snippets of issues ensuing from these statements are filtering into the ears of the actors/beneficiaries such that attack are now coming from all direction targeted at me.
“While the army council sacked their officers as a result of the investigation, it is unfortunate that the civilian actors/beneficiaries of the Ekitigate are not only walking the street freely, but also threatening my person and family.”
Describing the happenings of the 2014 governorship election as gross abuse of power executive power, illegality, harassment and intimidation, he said “this is a call on the Attorney General of the Federation not to allow all these to be swept under the carpet in view of recent happening. The far reaching effect and implication on our electoral process and procedure are obvious.”
He dismissed the claims by a former speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Dele Olugbemi, that he prostrated by governor Fayose describing it as blackmail.
He said “I never prostrated with Hon. Olugbemi anywhere. Olugbemi will do anything for Fayose after all, he is an appointee of Fayose. Please note that I understand Fayose and I understand the working system. I can tell you that Olugbemi’s press statement was composed directly by Fayose and delivered to Olugbemi though his media aide.”
