You will hardly see another president doing what Yoweri Museveni, President of Uganda did during an inspection of a road at Kyeirumba village in Isingiro district of Uganda.
According to a DailyMonitor, after inspecting a 74 Kilometer highway which was recently constructed, Museveni shocked all by demanding for a chair and sitting by the road to make phone calls while cars passed by.
However, the the motorists underwent tight security checks by security operatives who surrounded the president as he hailed the people who gathered to see him.
The President who made the phone call for about 30 minutes later talked to the residents who hailed him for the tarmacking of the 74 Kilometre road that links Uganda to Tanzania through Kikagati in Isingiro District. The road was constructed at a cost of Shs178 billion.
They also urged him to engage solar distributors to reduce the cost of batteries which are now at Shs400,000 and to power distributors to make electricity cheaper.
The President pledged to engage stakeholders on reducing the cost of power in the rural areas.
