A man set himself on fire in an apparent protest against taxes in Multan, Pakistan.
The graphic photos show a 24-year-old man enveloped in flames running down a road, in the middle of the traffic, as stunned passersby look on.
Shahbaz Ahmed reportedly had set himself alight as a protest against the revenue department that had failed to “give him justice”.
Seeing no way out, the young man poured a flammable liquid on him and light it in the middle of a busy city, leaving dozens of onlookers shocked.
Luckily, there were some passersby who didn’t get lost and threw some sand on Shahbaz’ body to extinguish the fire.
Although Mr Ahmed survived the self-immolation, the majority of his skin has fell off. He was rushed to local hospital for treatment with 80 per cent burns on his body.
