Zain Asher’s ability to speak English fluently is not in doubt. Her ability to also dazzle when anchoring CNN Newsroom or African Marketplace is also not in doubt but what may not know is her ability speak her local dialect, Igbo, rather fluently.
Asked during an interview if she does consider herself a Nigerian, without flinching she said, “I’m 100 per cent Nigerian”. To back her claim, she reached out to her viewers in Igbo leaving everyone in the interview room agape.
The petit broadcaster was born in the
United Kingdom but had two year’s of schooling in Nigeria, precisely in Enugu, Enugu State.
